The Gift of Jesus

It's easy to get overwhelmed during the holidays with all the extra things you need to do. Food to make, gifts to shop for, house to clean. But I know that I need time every day to connect to the Lord in order to make it through the chaos. I need God every day. Even on calm, nothing-is-happening days. I need Him even more during the holidays. And the holidays (more accurately defined as Holy Days) should be about Him. I have Nativity scenes in every room. I read stories about the Birth. I remind my family that we give gifts because God gave us a gift - Jesus. Perhaps you have special traditions that include Jesus, in addition to church. If not, start one!  And even if you are celebrating Christmas by yourself, you can take time every day to thank God for the most precious gift of the season.  The gift of Jesus.
