Return of the Prodigal Cat

So it took six weeks.
Where do cats go when
They aren’t at my house
Looking for food?
But back she was
At our door.
Thinner but looking
For a tentative petting
From the cat whisperer.
We saw her for two evenings.
Then another vanishing act.
She is training me
To let go of my feral fears.
She lives as she wishes.
And I learn to enjoy
The gift of her presence
As truly a gift.
Not a requirement.
